How Time Card Hours Are Calculated
For each shift, the calculator finds the elapsed time between clock-in and clock-out, then subtracts the selected break. Daily hours are added to produce the weekly total.
Hours above the selected weekly threshold are treated as overtime. Estimated gross pay equals regular pay plus overtime pay. Taxes, payroll deductions, shift premiums and jurisdiction-specific daily overtime rules are not included.
Time Card Calculation Example
A worker earns $20 per hour, records 41 hours after breaks and receives overtime after 40 hours at 1.5× their normal rate.
